>THE SALE/AUCTION

* Any winning birds must have an original copy of club/fed clocking sheet and result sheet signed by club/fed secretary (photocopies not accepted) To an official within 24hrs of the race.

*5% of total sales to go to VOD to help cover costs.

* DEFRA to be informed of a pigeon gathering taking place.

£2,225 in the pot potentially once all places are paid up including a £200 sponsor from the Vale of Derwent Social Club venue where sale is to be held (plus many more sponsors in pipe line including breweries, corn merchants and other pigeon racing companies). Has the potential to be massive. If each 135 birds entered makes average of £40 (last time a lot went for much more) looking at £5,400 there abouts on top. That money and only 135 birds competing for a share of it.

Not only that but the amount of fliers who will now buy youngsters and no doubt keep most of there team flying up to the national as most aren't going to only keep there breeder buyer birds racing, which hopefully should see a big boost to there clubs, feds and amal birdages where many members would have stopped after a few races. So all round it's a great job keeping the sport going in the right direction and keeping them baskets as full as possible. Thank you for all the support.
