NEHU Channel racing update

1.All NEHU members wishing to race from the continent in 2023 must inform the union office with partnership name and CPH number by 10th March.

2. All lofts must have veterinary visit by 20th May with signed certificate by vet for proof.

3. A fee of £15 paid to NEHU which will go towards costs of an official vet at the marking station and the shipping agency. At present the quotations to cover vets and shipping at is approximately £1,000 per race. Once numbers are known from members who will be racing across the channel then number of races covered by costs from £15 levy will be posted. Example 200 lofts =£3,000 so 3 races guaranteed obviously until numbers and payments are made, we won't know.
However to guarantee other races would be a division of the £1000 cost for vets, Certificates.
By the total birdage, this excludes the normal birdage to send to the race.

4. 1 transporter will be available for channel racing carrying up to 3,000 birds this will be calculated as to how many birds per loft can be entered.
Example if 200 lofts then 15 birds per loft. However more birds may be allowed if other lofts are not sending 15 birds, this would only be known on the Monday when lists are sent in.

5. All members will need to send the name of partnership along with ring numbers into the union office by midnight on the Monday week of basketing, by contacting or emailing union office. No entry will be accepted after this time. All entries must be paid for to your racing organisation regardless whether you send or not.
The reason why entries must be sent to union office is to try and make things easier at marking station due to all Basket numbers and ring number of birds must be processed on spread sheets via computer to be sent to shipping agent, printed off signed by official vet. This is going to take a lot of time and effort processing 3,000 birds.

6. The Marking Station will be Up North combine garage - Sapper’s corner Due to the possible volume of birds Basketing will be from 8am until 12 mid-day day as all paper work has to be checked and counter signed by official vet the scanned and emailed to shipping agent by 2pm.
All federations / race organisations to be given time slots which must be adhered to.
All members must bring their own clocking, printer systems All members must arrange to bring race baskets.

7. Those who have CPH number and intend to race could you please notify the union office as soon as possible.
£15 Levy payments will be taken between 5th and 20th April 2023.
