Last night I received a rather unpleasant email from a federation secretary accusing me on stopping the working man from sending his pigeons
I would like to point out that at the Amalgamation Annual General Meeting the membership voted for the Nationals to be raced from Maidstone, despatch to be Friday and that pick up times be 2 hours earlier .
Neither Brian, Peter or myself have a vote on this the 2 hours earlier was carried by 6 federations to 3
Maidstone from Crook is approx 290 mile drive ,the A1 has had several diversions lately due to overnight closures and is not an easy trip
Peter has also made arrangements for the site to be opened early for him as normally the gates don’t open until 7,00 this gives Peter a better chance for an earlier liberation
If you need to change arrangements and still want to race from Maidstone vote to go Thursdays in the future
This weekend this is the plans for the wagons
Wagon 1 goes to Newcastle,Tyne Derwent ,Deerness Valley then on to Darlington then to Leeming Bar
Wagon 2 goes to 2 pick ups at Consett plus Annfield Plain then back to garage
Wagon 3 goes out with a trailer collects West Durham and Cockfield with the birds in the trailer then returns to garage
The trailer is transferred onto wagon 2 , Crook birds loaded and then sets off to meet up with wagon 1 at Leeming
As I said at the start the Membership made this decision and just out of interest I have a record of who voted for it
