2026 drug testing in the WDA

As passed unanimously at the 2026 WDA AGM a full drug testing program will take place during the 2026 season, ensuring all 7 WDA National winners are tested for prohibited substances, any members flying well may be selected by the WDA at random for testing outside of National races.

It was passed at the NEHU General Council for season 2026 that an additional laboratory in France be added to the list of approved laboratories to carry out testing on behalf of NEHU affiliated organisations (this is the lab who carry out the testing for the KBDB - Belgian Union).
The WDA have elected to use this new laboratory for 2026, but there is an additional cost when compared to the previous laboratory of £100+ per test (approx cost of £400 per test).

The Amalgamation testing regime will be funded via a series of Bonus Balls to be organised and ran on the Official WDA Facebook group by James Whitney & Ian Stafford - the first sale is currently "live", please support them.
Collection of samples for testing will be done by approved/trained members of the NEHU.

There is no place in our sport for those who abuse their pigeons and at the same time cheat their fellow competitors by using prohibited substances.

If any Fed or Club wish to carry out drug testing in addition to the tests ran by the Amalgamation then then that is their right and these must be booked via the NEHU Office.

Best Wishes

Ian McIntosh

President WDA
