BURBURE YOUNG BIRD OPEN RACE 2017

To be flown on Saturday 23 September.

Race-Marking Friday 22nd September (morning).

This race is open to the whole of the NEHU and is flown on the same lines as the Futurity (band-wise). Entry fee is £5 per bird with a maximum of 10 birds per loft. A £2.50 per bird non-refundable deposit must be paid on or before Saturday 16 September. No entries will be accepted after this date (strictly adhered to). At the present moment I have secured over £1,200 in sponsorship for this event. A full list of sponsors will be issued at a later date. Anyone else wishing to donate to the race, please give me a ring.

Prize monies will be paid as follows:
There will be £250 given to each band: £200 first, £50 second providing each band has a minimum of 50 birds competing. If your band has insufficient birds you will compete for the prize money in your next nearest band.

50% of the total prize pot, less band money will be paid to the overall winner of the race; 25% for second; 10% third; 5% fourth; 3% fifth, 2% sixth then 1% for 7th - 10th.

There will be no deductions taken from the prize fund or pools apart from transporting costs. In the event of having 1,000 birds competing we will be flying for a first prize of approx. £2,500 plus optional pools.

Pools are 50p; £1; £2; £3; £5 banding and open. There will also be a £10 winner takes all pool and a £2 single nomination winner takes all. Each pool will have 5 prizes with the winner taking a 50% share; 2nd 25% share; 3rd 15% share; 4th & 5th 5% share.
(In the event of insufficient birds being timed in to win a pool or nomination, then any money not won shall be divided equally between those birds time in that pool or nomination should no birds be timed in a pool or nomination then monies will be returned to entrants)

There are 5 main marking stations at present:

Loftus WMC, Sappers Corner, The Arch Club South Moor, Sunderland (venue to be arranged), Durham (venue to be confirmed). However, if anyone wants to set up a marking station you can but provision must be made to ferry birds into the nearest main marking centre as time is short on Friday morning. We must stress that all tickets must be booked and deposits paid by Saturday 16 September. The birds will be transported by the UNC.
The winner of the open will be drug tested.

All Prize monies will be paid out at East Cleveland Federations Annual Presentation at Loftus WMC.
JPS Lofts have donated a Trophy for the overall winner.
